Lynn and I have had a long conversation about the Marauders and what they were like, she's currently working on a Marauder Era fic, so it's been coming up in conversation quite a lot. However, the main thing we keep coming too is Peter.
I've always suggested that there is more to Peter then meets the eye. In fact I separate Wormtail from Peter on a regular basis. To me Wormtail is the nasty, dirty, traitor to James and Lily, while Peter is the confused, insecure boy at Hogwarts.
It's been under my speculation of what exactly the three boys did to Peter to make him betray them like he did. Granted most people find my characterization this way wrong, and I respect that, I don't in any way feel that I am right, for only JK can be completely right.
But here, however, is the question I'd like to discus. Peter that we see in 'Snape's Worst Memory' and Peter that we see in the map are completely different personalities. And for a long time Lynn and I argued if that had any significance, because really, we didn't know if the map only regurgitated the marauders as a whole giving Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs pretty much all the same personality or if all of them left their own individual imprint on it.
It was earlier today that I discovered the answer. They each left there own individual imprint, or at least that's how I took it. (For the exact proof it's at
her site under FAQ's: About Book section) So now, what implications does that have on our sweet (or not so sweet) little Peter. Is he a bad-to-the-core Death Eater, or did something happen, and what, better yet
who exactly is this character that we've only seen in passing?
Later Days!
