I am throughly and completely offended.

As a start off point I will post these: an essay by [info]srichard, Fat People Have No Reason to Live and a response essay by [info]millieweasley, Fat=Stupid?. (All of this comes out of JK's 'rant' on her website; you can find it under Extras.)

Now my response on the whole issue )

Well, jkrowling.com has been updated. Well more like we have new little easter eggs running around. And I'd love to tell you where the all are, but my computer, or her webpage (I dont' know which, maybe both?) aren't allowing me to access them. If you personally want to be able to get to them you'll need to go to Mugglenet to get them. So sorry for that, but trust me I'm hurting too!

Lynn and I have had a long conversation about the Marauders and what they were like, she's currently working on a Marauder Era fic, so it's been coming up in conversation quite a lot. However, the main thing we keep coming too is Peter.

I've always suggested that there is more to Peter then meets the eye. In fact I separate Wormtail from Peter on a regular basis. To me Wormtail is the nasty, dirty, traitor to James and Lily, while Peter is the confused, insecure boy at Hogwarts.

It's been under my speculation of what exactly the three boys did to Peter to make him betray them like he did. Granted most people find my characterization this way wrong, and I respect that, I don't in any way feel that I am right, for only JK can be completely right.

But here, however, is the question I'd like to discus. Peter that we see in 'Snape's Worst Memory' and Peter that we see in the map are completely different personalities. And for a long time Lynn and I argued if that had any significance, because really, we didn't know if the map only regurgitated the marauders as a whole giving Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs pretty much all the same personality or if all of them left their own individual imprint on it.

It was earlier today that I discovered the answer. They each left there own individual imprint, or at least that's how I took it. (For the exact proof it's at her site under FAQ's: About Book section) So now, what implications does that have on our sweet (or not so sweet) little Peter. Is he a bad-to-the-core Death Eater, or did something happen, and what, better yet who exactly is this character that we've only seen in passing?

The Top Ten Worst Places for the Dark Mark

10. Back of your hand. Not a bad place, but pretty visible unless you wear gloves 24/7.

9. Your Elbow. Because really, how strange would it be to ask the Dark Lord to put it on your ELBOW?

8. Foot. It's painful, think about it.

7. The dead center of your back. Not a bad spot unless Voldemort wants to use you to summom others. Then you just gotta get naked.... PPPretttty embarressing.

6. Butt. Again, not a bad spot. Could cause some issues if your sitting down when you get summoned...or if your who Voldey wants to use to summon. Naked time again!

5. Back of the knee. Walk, walk, walk, summon, FALL IN PAIN!

4. (Only for girls) Breasts. Painful, not a good place.......unless your Bella.

3. Armpit. Pain like one wouldn't believe.

2. Face. ::meeting at the ministry:: Uh, sir your under arrest. WHY? Sir, there's a dark mark on your face....glowing.

And the number one place....

The genitals. Undiscribable pain. Merlin's beard, the pain.

I need to warn you all, this is unfinished, and I can't really continue writing it. Not with Half-Blood Prince out. Yes there is some chance that Voldy will use Ginny in the way I've started to theorizing about, but more then likely it won't come to pass, just because of what did happen in HBP. Please forgive me for not getting this finished before July 16th, but here is what I had written. And I'll be starting on something new within the week.

I'm a horrible, horrible person I know. I don't know what else to say about the essay that's not up yet, but I do have this to say. (It's to gloat at Lynn, really)

Katie Bell is a sixth year, and will in fact be there next book. We've been arguing over this for quite some time. I believed she was a sixth year, Lynn believing she was a seventh with Angelina and Alicia. I got this information for OotP, UK Version p. 508, "...I'll try out for Chaser. Angelina and Alicia are both leaving next year and I prefer goal-scoring to Seeking anyway." Ginny said this to Harry after the first practise with Ginny replacing Harry as Seeker.

Since Ginny left out Katie, it is assumed that Katie is not leaving, and therefore a six-year. GO ME! Sorry, I'll get back to working on that essay.

I know this isn't the essay I promised, but that's almost finished, I promise. So to hold you off till then here's an interesting thing I found while researching on my essay:

In OotP during the scene in the Prophecy room another prophecy breaks open, allowing us, as readers to hear a part of it.

'"...at the solstice will come a new..." said the figure of an old bearded man. ... "...and none will come after..." said the figure of a young woman."'

I think it is interesting to note that many, many other prophecies break, but this is the only one JK allows us to hear.

Now everying she does is on purpose so I'm curious to what you all think this could mean. All that we know of it is that two people spoke this prophecy, instead of the just one (Trelawny) in Harry's case. What could this mean? She always has a reason behind what she does, and so I'm curious to what this purpose is. Who was this prophecy said about? Who said it? Why was it put in there during that particular scene?

There are so many questions, and I want your input, what do you all think?

Big news, she's finally updated! Sorry, I've been watching obsessively for an update. So here is what we have newly learned:

1. The subject of pure-blood families dying out due to refusal to marry muggles will be touched upon in HBP.
2.I think this has been answered before, but, magic children under 11 are usually home-schooled because it's incredibly hard for them to not stick out in muggle schools. Look at Harry, who didn't even know he was a wizard! He still stuck out like a sore thumb!
3. The veritaserum is not fool-proof; it can only be used on a weak or drained wizard or witch. There are ways to get around it.
4. For those of you that go to the Leaky Cauldron will be pleased to note that it won the fansite award for this "month". Congrats!
5.The poll question has been answered, and it was the one on how Neville was effected by the prophecy. I want to do justice to what she said, so instead of trying to tell it myself, I direct you to her website: jkrowling.com. It's in the FAQ, Poll question section for those of you who have not ever been.

Now for a little hope for you all that want to read something more interesting then me regurgitating Rowling's updates, I will have an essay up for you probably Friday; on Ginny and her possession by Tom Riddle's diary-self. See you all then!

ARG! That woman loves to drive us nuts!

Here's why:

She hasn't started writing book 7, and actually that's OK. I'd take a break too. She really likes HBP, but knows that others won't. I'm sure it's just as amazing as the rest! Flitwick is a human, but has a little bit of goblin in him.

Now for the big ones, Ron nor Harry are Dumbledore coming back from the future. Or something like that, I always thought that rumor was a little silly. But here's what she did in displing that rumor, and I quote: "I've also heard a whisper about Ron and Hermione's son time-travelling, so I shall go further and tell you that NONE of the characters in the books has returned from the future. As for the idea of Ron and Hermione having a son...(chuckles as the distant roars of a million shippers reach my ears, all cursing me to an eternity or unsatisfied curiosity)."

ARG!!! She's right with the roars. I want know if they live! (As you can see, I'm positive that R/H is going to happen) ARG!!! Anyway, the essay should be up soon. See you all then!
